Crow Pose And Its Benefits

Kakasana, the tenth of twelve basic hatha yoga poses, is an arm balancing pose that promotes your sense of balance. Called as Crow Pose in English, the pose makes you feel elated as you master it to perfection.



Here is how you do Crow Pose

·          Stand straight with your hands by the sides.
·          Place your palms on the floor in front of you. The palms should be placed shoulder-              width apart from each other. You may bend your knees to place your palms on the floor.
·          Bend your elbows slightly and lift your heels off the floor.
·          Shift the weight of your body slightly forward and place your knees on your upper arms.
·          Hold the pose for mentioned duration.
·          To release the pose, shift your weight slowly backwards as you place your feet on the           ground.


Duration of Crow Pose

Remain in Crow Pose for 30 seconds.

Benefits of Crow Pose

·          Strengthens arms and wrists
·          Tones abdominal muscles and improves digestion
·          Cures low back pain
·          Promotes balance
·          Improves focus
·          Calms the mind

Note:

Those with chronic wrist conditions should refrain from practicing the pose.
