BENEFITS OF ADHO MUKHA SVANASANA (DOWNWARD FACING DOG POSE)


How to do Adho Mukha Svanasana / Downward Facing Dog Pose

  • Go down on all fours. Let your palms align with your shoulders and your knees with your hips.
  • Exhale as you lift your body by raising your hips and straightening your knees. Place your heels firmly on the ground.
  • Draw your shoulders back.
  • Position your head between your upper arms and fix your gaze on your navel.
  • To release the pose, go on fours again, assume Thunderbolt Pose and stretch your legs. 

Duration of Downward Dog Pose

Hold Downward Dog Pose for one minute.

Those with wrist injury should avoid practicing the pose.
