Chakrasana, The Way To Grow Young



 

Chakrasana, one of the challenging yoga poses, strengthens the entire back muscles. It has innumerable benefits and you may love the fact that it is one of those effective poses that aid in defying your age. The only hiccup may be that it takes some time to master it to perfection. How To Do Chakrasana / Wheel Pose

  • Lie down on the mat in supine position.
  • Bend your legs and place your feet closer to your buttock.
  • The feet should be placed apart maintaining hip-width distance.
  • Lift your arms to place your palms behind your shoulders on the floor. The fingers should be pointed towards your shoulders.
  • With your palms and feet placed firmly on the mat, lift your body off the ground.
  • Lift your hips as high as possible so that your hands are straightened. 
  • While returning to rest, bend your hands and place your body and head slowly on the mat.

Duration: 20 seconds

Note: People suffering from severe back problems and those with high blood pressure should refrain from practicing the pose.
